ACTtheREP, launched in 2003, is a yearly program of original and classic plays. The aim of the Rep is to showcase actors as well as new writers, directors and plays. Each production of three to four plays is carefully selected to inspire and challenge the audience and the actor. Past productions have included original works such as Hermanas and The Urn, written by Fernando Lopez-Castro and Arthur Mendoza, and the world premier of Bittersweet by Hugh Craig. Several Tenessee Williams' plays have been produced, including the rare Two Character Play, as well as better known Williams' pieces, The Glass Menagerie and Portrait of a Madonna. We are always looking for challenging new pieces and revitalizing works by Williams, Miller, O'Neil, and other great classic playwrights.
